Members of the society can take medal tests in Ballroom, Latin American and Rock 'n' Roll with the Associated Board of Dance (ABD), a Midlands based internationally recognised dance society.
The medal tests follow a progressive programme: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Gold Bar. For each level you will be expected to dance a routine to a specified syllabus and the quality of movement and your technique will be assessed by an examinor from the board. You can take the tests either with your partner (where you will be marked individually) or with your teacher. The number of dances to be assessed will increase as you progress through your grades.
There is a small charge for each examination and you will be awarded a grade and a certificate upon passing your exam. Medal tests are held twice a year, usually at the end of first and second term.
